TRANSFORMING DEMOLITION INTO AN OPPORTUNITY FOR SUSTAINABLE MASONRY

Web-Recyc

Web-Recyc, a well-conceived initiative

Web-Recyc is a circular economy platform dedicated to brick in the greater Montreal area.

Born from a collaboration between Brique Recyc and Architecture Without Borders Quebec, it connects property owners and contractors dismantling masonry walls with those seeking reclaimed bricks, by providing bins on job sites, transportation, industrial cleaning, and marketing through a transactional platform.

How is Web-Recyc's recycled brick more environmentally friendly?

By recovering demolition bricks, Web-Recyc enables the reuse of up to approximately 90% of units in good condition and avoids up to 5.9 tons of CO₂ for a 1,000 sq. ft. wall, rather than sending these materials to landfill.

By partnering with Web-Recyc, Webster & Fils leverages its masonry expertise to help companies integrate reclaimed brick into their projects and concretely reduce the carbon footprint of their buildings.

“At Webster, we are proud to contribute to the Web-Recyc innovation, an initiative that gives brick a second life. It is a practical solution to reduce our environmental impact, create employment opportunities, and meet the needs of our clients who want to accurately match an existing brick.”

The advantages of Web-Recyc
in the field

Finding a brick consistent with the existing facade

By working with brick families from existing buildings, Web-Recyc increases the chances of finding a brick that harmonizes with a wall already in place, an addition, or a repair.

Less logistics to coordinate

Collection, sorting, cleaning, and reclamation are managed by Web-Recyc, which frees contractors and project managers to focus on executing the work.

A more environmentally responsible option for your projects

By reusing brick rather than using only new materials, projects reduce their carbon footprint while remaining consistent with the original architecture.

An easy solution to document

Using Web-Recyc facilitates demonstrating the project's sustainable development efforts, an asset for ESG reports, tenders, or certification processes.

Simplified waste management

Dedicated brick bins are delivered to the job site, filled as work progresses, then picked up by the same team: no need to multiply steps with eco-centers or transporters.

When Webster's expertise meets the Web-Recyc platform

Web-Recyc is more than a service that Webster recommends: it is a partner with whom we collaborate closely. Through this relationship and our masonry expertise, Webster & Fils helps teams fully leverage the platform: understand the available brick families, identify those suitable for an addition or repair on an existing facade, and better integrate reclaimed brick into the overall project strategy.

We bridge the gap between the technical needs of the job site and the Web-Recyc offering, so that reuse becomes an option that is both credible from a construction standpoint and advantageous from an environmental perspective.
