A LOCAL INNOVATION IN SUSTAINABLE MASONRY

The Dual brick

What is the Dual brick?

The DUAL brick is a low-carbon architectural concrete brick, designed and developed in Quebec through close collaboration between NEUF architect(e)s, Permacon, and Webster & Sons.

Conceived as a true design tool for professionals, it offers two formats, two faces (smooth and grooved), and a palette of contemporary colors, while remaining perfectly suited to site realities.

DUAL builds on Webster’s masonry expertise: supporting designers and builders with reliable, innovative, and sustainable technical solutions.

How is the DUAL brick more environmentally friendly?

With DUAL, innovation is not limited to the brick’s shape: it changes the way we design tomorrow’s masonry. What sets DUAL apart is the environmental innovation at the very heart of the product.

By reducing the amount of material used by approximately one-third and carbon emissions by more than 20% over its entire life cycle compared to a traditional concrete brick, this low-carbon brick genuinely reduces its environmental impact while remaining suited to today’s building requirements.

Alongside its partners, Webster & Sons leverages its technical expertise and field knowledge to support design and construction teams seeking to reduce the carbon footprint of their projects, without compromising architectural quality or site efficiency.

“Webster supports the architectural community with practical solutions that offer greater design possibilities and embody forward-looking environmental responsibility. With over a century of collaboration with masonry contractors, we understand the importance of designing products that combine ease of use and productivity. The new DUAL brick fully reflects Webster and Sons’ mission and vision through its unique aesthetic signature and innovative sustainable approach.”
